WPC (Wood-Plastic-Composite) is a wood-plastic composite material and consists of approx. 60% wood fibers (poplar), approx. 35% plastic (PE polyethylene) and approx. 5% additives (color fastness, UV protection, mold protection, algae protection, etc.).
Due to the fine-grained and homogeneous surface, there is no danger of splintering or cracking.
The durability corresponds to class 1-2 according to DIN 350-2.
The manufacturing tolerance is +/- 0.5mm in thickness and +/- 1mm in width.
The planks are available in 4 different lengths: 3.0m, 3.6m, 4.2m and 4.8m.
Both the WPC substructure and the aluminum substructure can be used for the substructure.
When laying the tiles, please ensure that they are laid in a consistent direction (indicated by a small ridge in the side groove).
The substructure should be provided at a distance of between 30cm and 35cm.
WPC decking reacts to temperature changes. Unlike wooden decking, WPC decking expands when heated and contracts again when cooled. A sufficient distance from adjacent components should be maintained, particularly in length.
WPC decking boards can be processed with the conventional tools that are also used in woodworking.
Residual materials can be disposed of via normal household waste.
Cleaning and maintenance of the terrace
An initial cleaning after the terrace has been constructed can be carried out with water and a soap solution using a brush. A high-pressure cleaner can be used, but the distance between the nozzle should be at least 40cm. Before using the high-pressure cleaner, test it on a remaining plank to determine the minimum distance.
The best choice for cleaning is the Gunreben WPC cleaner to remove surface dirt. In conjunction with this, the Gunreben WPC surface protector can be used, which increases protection against water (water-repellent), dirt and grease.
The terrace should be cleaned at regular intervals. In particular, dirt, grease and coarse particles must be removed immediately to prevent excessive discolouration and damage.
